Terry Smith Lookout

Terry Smith Lookout rest area is a free campsite located 78km north of Cloncurry or 103k south of the Burke and Wills Roadhouse on the western side of the Burke Developmental Road in the Cloncurry Region of North West Queensland.

This rest area is quite basic with some shade and it has easy access just off the highway. The sunsets and evening sky’s are amazing! There is a large open bitumen area big enough for any size rig and plenty of areas behind the main area for parking up. It can be a popular place so it pays to get here early and it can be a bit noisy due to it’s closeness to the road, but overall it is a great place to spend the night.

The Terry Smith Lookout rest area has a number sheltered picnic tables and toilets with disability access. It also has a dump point but there is little to no water and plenty of rubbish bins.

There is some mobile phone service here, but it will depend on your carrier.
Dogs are welcome at this campsite but please be responsible!

The maximum time limit for staying here is 20 hours.
