Hann River Roadhouse

Hann River Roadhouse is a low cost campsite located 74km north west of Laura and 62km south of Musgrave on the Peninsula Development Road in the Cook Region of Far North Queensland.

The Hann River Roadhouse offers camping in a spacious and shady area beside the river and serves food daily between the hours of 7.30am and 10pm and sells basic food supplies, souvenirs and maps with EFTPOS available. There is also a basic mechanical workshop here. You can also do some fishing here in the nearby Hann River.

Note on road conditions: The Peninsula Developmental Road road is closed for up to four months per year due to the summer wet season causing damage to the surface and flooding over low level river crossings.(source:http://en.wikipedia.org. Note on communications: Mobile phone coverage is generally not available in Cape York Peninsula, although some networks may have service in major towns. It is essential to travel with other communication equipment, such as a satellite phone or UHF radio. It is also advisable to carry a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) (source:www.nprsr.qld.gov.au).
